With warmer weather and drier fuels increasing,  the risk of wildfire becomes greater in the Bitterroot Valley.  Would you like to see if your home is fire ready?  A free wildfire home assessment can tell you a lot about the status of your home as it relates to wildfire, and this assessment will provide valuable suggestions for homeowners to consider in making their properties Fire Wise.

FALL BURNING:  OPEN

Effective September 1, 2023 outside burning is OPEN in Ravalli County, through November 30, 2023 when outside burning closes for the winter season.   You'll need to have a burn permit and make sure to activate your permit each time you burn.

Remember, even with cooler temperatures and rain, fuels are still very dry and won't take much to burn.
